Editorial Standards

Editorial independence

Vendors do not control conclusions. Rankings cannot be purchased. Affiliate compensation does not determine recommendations. If we cannot keep a comparison independent, we will not publish it as a ranking.

Content creation

Pages may be drafted by editors, technical professionals, industry specialists, and research contributors. AI-assisted workflows may help organize research, draft, compare options, or edit for clarity.

Human review

AI-assisted copy that involves cybersecurity, regulatory considerations, financial or pricing claims, product recommendations, technical configuration, or legal implications receives human review before it stays on the site. AI is not an unattended recommender.

Sourcing standards

We prefer, in order: primary vendor documentation; official regulatory or government sources; standards organizations; original technical documentation; reliable industry sources; and independent reporting when a claim needs it. Marketing blogs are not enough for a ranking claim.

Fact verification

Pricing, product features, licensing, security features, compliance claims, availability, compatibility, and support claims should be checked against a dated source. If we have not verified a claim, the page should say to confirm it.

Product reviews and buying guides

Evaluation follows How We Evaluate Products. Buying guides should state who they are for, what “better” means, and what we did not test.

Affiliate relationships

Affiliate Disclosure. Short disclosure also appears at the top of pages that contain those links.

Sponsored relationships must never be disguised as independent editorial recommendations. If sponsorship is introduced, it will be labeled on the page.

Corrections

Corrections Policy. Material errors are corrected in the living article with a date. Ordinary product updates use a reviewed date rather than a “correction” label.

Content updates

Evergreen pages should show when they were last reviewed. Originally published, last reviewed, and last updated dates are used when they reflect real work — not because WordPress stored a timestamp.

AI use

AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, comparison, or editing. Substantive recommendations and sensitive technical claims require a person to review them.

Images and intellectual property

Images must be original, licensed, or otherwise cleared. We do not scrape vendor marks into a fake award badge.

Conflicts of interest

Related-company work and affiliate paths are disclosed. Editors do not accept payment to change a conclusion.

Independence, privacy, and expertise

Independent methodology

Rankings and scorecard priorities are not sold. Affiliate links are disclosed and never raise a recommendation’s rank.

Privacy first

Do not send patient, client, case, health, or financial-account information. Assessments can be completed anonymously.

Human review

Security, pricing, and vendor-ranking claims are reviewed by a person. AI is not used as an unattended recommender.

Related consulting

Crazy Smart Consulting is a related implementation option with disclosed common ownership. It is not an independent comparison winner.
